During the holiday season, Ashe County, as the country’s largest Christmas Tree producing county, is the destination for numerous families. They travel up the mountain to one of our many Choose & Cut Christmas Tree Farms. Enjoying hayrides, roasting marshmallows over a bonfire, and choosing the “perfect” tree, they create memories to last a lifetime!
Many people also enjoy driving the County’s back roads, admiring the gorgeous mountain scenery, particularly during the fall leaf season. The Blue Ridge Parkway, 30 miles of which crosses Ashe County, is a favorite drive for many!
